CASE STUDIES
Our very first client was Chessington Garden Centre, on the fringe of Southwest London, next door to the World of Adventures. The centre had the ambition to become the greenest garden centre in the UK. We helped them to do just that - designing and implementing an environmental management system which was certified to ISO 14001 in 2006. This led to several awards including The Guardian Green Business Award based on their comprehensive achievements in energy efficiency and more.
In 2010 and 2011 we worked with Catherine Max Consulting who led a team working on a major project establishing ways to build sustainability into social care. Funded by the Department of Health, the team included the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) and Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO). Outputs from the project are available on the sustainable social care web pages (SCIE). More information on the programme can be found at Catherine Max Consulting.
In 2010 we helped the EDICS family of GP practices to respond to the NHS Carbon Reduction Strategy by establishing an action plan to reduce carbon emissions across 18 practices in Epsom, Banstead and Leatherhead in North East Surrey. We identified considerable carbon emissions savings for a set of modest investments and simple interventions with a short payback period.
