Matt1

Matt Prescott BSc, MRes (Environmental Science), FRGS, AIEMA

Matt is a director at Isostasy and a co-founder of The Robertsbridge Group. He splits his time between working with large corporates on sustainability strategy and the nut and bolts of project delivery with SMEs, public and third sector organisations.

Matt's 12 years experience in sustainable development covers climate change policymaking, carbon and energy mangement, sustainable buildings and construction, green product and service development, and environmental management and assessment.

Working on sustainable buildings, Matt has implemented the largest retrofit green roof in the UK and was responsible, on the client-side, for the first integrated solar PV roof and first whole building with FSC chain of custody. He ran the RSA's CarbonLimited and Energy 2020 programmes and has advised many commercial and public sector organisations, ranging from local authorities to the NHS to multinationals such as PepsiCo and Intercontinental Hotels Group.

Matt is an Associate of IEMA (The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment), a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and an adviser to Green Rewards.

David

David Prescott BSc (Environmental Science), CENG, MIET

David founded Isostasy in 2001. A Chartered Electrical Engineer and member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, David has over two decades of senior management experience in one of the UK's largest corporate organisations, including responsibility for environmental and quality management. A graduate in environmental studies he also holds the Diploma in Pollution Control from the Open University. David leads on environmental and quality management systems and training, including specialist experience with BS8555.

Paul Crossley BSc (Environmental Quality and Resource Management), AIEMA

Paul is a senior environmental consultant and was previously Sustainability Manager at construction consultants Robinson Low Francis, where he managed its ISO 14001 certification and delivered wide-ranging training and advice including on low energy design, renewable energy, sustainable travel, BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes. After studying at UWE Bristol, Paul worked for restoration specialists Ty Mawr Lime and later joined MHP as their Sustainability Manager. He is currently also Chairman and Trustee of the charity FRANK Water Projects.

Dr Paula Owen BSc MSc

A renowned environmental and information specialist with over 17 years of professional experience in the fields of energy; climate change; and carbon footprinting and management. Paula has a PhD in Climate Change Chemistry from the University of Oxford and a Masters degree in Information Science from City University, London. Highlights from her career include the inception, research and writing of three highly regarded energy and carbon related publications: The Rise of the Machines; The Ampere Strikes Back and The Elephant in the Living Room, each of which did much to aid the understanding of the role the domestic sector in the increasing energy demand within the UK.

Paula was the project lead for the ACT ON CO2 calculator - the first official UK government carbon calculator for the domestic sector. This award-winning calculator has seen exceptional success since it was launched 4 years ago, with well over 1 million carbon footprints completed. Paula has developed other carbon management tools for Google, BBC and the Energy Saving Trust. She has worked with a number of multinational companies on energy projects; environmental data and information management; and by providing tools and advice on green marketing. Recent clients the EU Commission; The Royal Commonwealth Society; British Gas and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

OUR STORY

Founded in 2001 as an environmental management consultancy, Isostasy remains true to its 'ISO' origins, offering advice and support to implement ISO14001 - but now covering so much more.

We remain a small, flexible and experienced environmental business. We hesitate to use the word, but boutique has been used.

Our strength is in our commitment and passion for environmental sustainability and our fifty odd years of combined experience in it.
